A portion of nuts that squirrels bury for winter never get recovered. If they did, there would be no nuts to bring up the next generation trees and woods. Maybe this is where  humans sometimes go wrong. Is it always about efficiency? Claims are made that we can be more sustainable if we are more efficient, maybe there is some truth in this but it might not be the only or the best game in town.
